Turbos give notice. The engine uses more oil, the exhaust colour changes, or the machine feels late when you ask for power. Those are the moments to inspect, not the week after the wheel has touched the housing.
Stop and check if you see
- Blue or grey smoke that was not there before
- Oil in the intake pipe or the exhaust
- A rising whistle that changes with rpm
- Boost that never reaches the usual figure
Also look at the air filter and the oil feed line. A blocked filter or a pinched drain will destroy a new turbo in a short time. If the failure was sudden, check the intake for pieces of the wheel before you start the engine again.
Share the engine serial and a photo of the turbo tag so the replacement matches the rating.
